Patricia A. Wrixon is founder of The Salon at 10 Newbury, a business specializing in several distinct segments in the beauty and hair industry since 1995. In her 30 years of experience in the hair replacement industry, Ms. Wrixon has built The Salon at 10 Newbury street into one of the most prestigious and highly respected salons and hair replacement centers in New England. After recognizing that there were limited hair replacement options available for women, Ms. Wrixon spoke with a number of oncologists and started a firm for women’s hair replacement for women having medical treatments and women with thinning hair.
The framework of her career and interests has always been to help women improve their image. Ms. Wrixon has the expertise to offer women options to help them resolve hair loss issues in a private and comfortable setting. Ms. Wrixon can recommend hairstyles from a contemporary collection of wigs and hairpieces that are easy to care for, natural looking and ready to wear, enabling women to look and feel like themselves again.
In conjunction with growing her business, Ms. Wrixon has performed considerable volunteer work in the community. She has volunteered with the American Cancer Society on their “Look Good – Feel Better” program, the Friend’s Boutique at Dana Farber, and the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition. Ms. Wrixon has lectured extensively to diverse groups such as the American Hair Loss Council, various civic, social, and medical groups, as well as, to students of beauty academies throughout the greater Boston area. Patricia is a former advocate & honoree of the MGH 100, which honors 100 individuals every year for their contributions to the fight against cancer.
In addition to her business and volunteer work, Ms. Wrixon started her non-profit organization, Wigs for Well-Being, to provide wigs to women and children who are experiencing hair loss from cancer treatments and do not have the funds or insurance to purchase a wig.
