“I have been getting wigs and hairpieces from 10 Newbury Salon for many years and have always been satisfied with the process and product. This time I have been over the top happy and excited to get a piece that was custom made by Pat She was able through Zoom to figure out the dimensions, the color and size of the hairpiece I was asking for. It was not an easy task but she proved to do her magic to my satisfaction.”

“Pat is the best, and the employees are wonderful also. I have a hair disorder and they were very kind and helpful. They also were able to match me with a wig that was perfect for me, and it looks so real most people don’t even realize that’s it’s a wig. Thank you so much, Pat and company!” – Isabel P.
I came in with my mum today to get a wig (she’s losing hair after starting chemo treatments). Before the appointment, she was sad and feeling low about losing her hair. A few hours later, she walked out with a brand new head of gorgeous hair and feeling great! The owner is amazingly kind and patient, and everyone in the salon was a delight to be around. Michelle trimmed the wig and taught my mum how to put the wig on, and in a few weeks, we’ll go back to learn how to take care of the wig. The way that they walk you through the process and options is extremely comforting. When you’re losing your hair and feeling less than yourself, these folks really know how to get you feeling good again. They’re not at all pushy, and are just so supportive, fun, and kind. I’d love to go back to the salon sometime to get my own hair styled. – Remlee G.
“Driving three hours to Boston from Albany NY to visit this salon was a trip worth taking to purchase a wig. This Salon at 10 Newbury has an extensive selection of high quality, European hair wigs and toppers. There is no doubt you will find a piece that you will fit your needs and personality. Patricia Wrixon, the founder, started the salon to provide a service to women who suffered hair loss or thinning from cancer or other medical conditions. Her business is thriving because of her commitment and professionalism. I never felt rushed when trying on numerous wigs to find the right fit and style. She made the experience pleasurable. Kudos to Pat for her dedication to making women feel their best.”

“I have trichotillomania and finally made the decision to get a wig. I was quite apprehensive about the whole process, but Patricia and her team made me feel valued and beautiful every step of the way. These people are ARTISTS. I can’t say that enough. The level of skill they have is astounding — from dealing with my wig’s complex color job to cutting and fitting it, their abilities are world-class. For anyone dealing with hair loss, this is your place. My family is astounded with the results and never thought a wig could look so good. Thank you, team! I’m over the moon.” – KT Browne
My daughter has cancer for the second time in her young life. She is only 21 and is about to be admitted at Boston Children’s Hospital where she will undergo a stem cell transplant. She’ll be very sick during her month or more there as an in-patient and she’ll once again lose all of her hair. We went to this salon because we had heard good things about the quality of their wigs. Wow! What an experience! We were treated like family and fitted with wigs until we found the perfect one for my daughter. It was an emotional moment to see her looking as she once did, full head of hair, like the hair she had pre cancer diagnosis. The stylist and the owner and the front desk receptionists all treated us so well and took so much time to help my daughter fulfill this dream. It’s the little things that become the big things. The quality of this human hair wig is EXCEPTIONAL. We’ve had other wigs but THIS is extraordinary. We left the salon with my daughter donning her new locks, and we dined at a wine bar nearby. I got to have dinner with the happiest version I’ve seen of my daughter in a long while now. Priceless. I can’t say enough good things about our time at this salon. – Kristi P.
“I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer at 34 years old and never imagine having to worry about being bald or other body changes that come with cancer. Pat and Michele made having cancer a little better and made me feel like my old self with the wig that they colored and cut for me. I highly recommend them and will continue to go to salon 10 as they are incredible.”

“I have Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia and am losing my hair. I never expected this journey to be so emotional or to be so depressed. I never want to go out anymore or even go to work with my hair loss as I was embarrassed and ashamed. In looking for a solution, I came across The Salon at 10 Newbury. I started with a virtual consultation with the owner, Patricia Wrixon. Pat was INCREDIBLE and was so understanding and supportive! I booked an appointment and because I live more than 6 hours away, she booked me on a Thursday morning, allowing us more than enough time to find the correct hair piece, overnight ship it, color and highlight on Friday and cut and blend with my bio hair Saturday along with teaching me all about the care of Follea hair pieces.Living so far away, Ashley (Office Manager) and Sara answered endless questions and emails. They ensured our trip was pure perfection. When we entered the Salon, the staff is amazing at Covid precautions as well as assuring you are seen in a private space due to the emotions of hair loss. We were offered coffee, americano, espresso, water and were catered to like royalty. Pat even helped us find the most amazing place to have dinner that evening! I am deathly afraid of going bald and the texture of my hair has drastically changed. Because of this, my husband and I decided I would purchase a Follea topper and a Follea wig that match; therefore I can wear whichever I am more comfortable in at the moment and no one will be the wiser! Not only did Pat not oversell, she was quick to point out that we did not have to decide that moment. By purchasing two pieces, it never dawned on me this meant twice the amount of work for Pat, the amazing guru of color, Michelle, and the fantastic hair cut/blend Agi!! And yet, they ensured that we had everything including education before we left on Saturday and had both pieces that match perfectly!! The pictures below are the follea topper. I am over the moon about how this blends and cannot say enough about this salon. They are not just helping you feel beautiful again, they are helping to give you back your life. Do not hesitate to make your appointment today. You will NOT be disappointed!!! Thank you Pat, Ashley, Sara, Michelle, Agi and team from the bottom of my heart!!!”- Karen C.
I am very impressed with The Salon at 10 Newbury and with the owner Pat Wrixon in particular. She specializes in caring for patients who are loosing their hair due to chemotherapy and other ailments. I found her website on the internet by chance as I was trying to come to terms with having cancer and initiating treatments that would surely result in hair loss. I made an appointment for the next day and was welcomed into a very COVID safe environment, a private consult room where I met Pat. She look a long time with me, trying on different hair pieces and wigs to figure out what would work best. I have a large head and have trouble fitting hats so I was worried that a wig would never work. I ordered a wig and returned just a few days later for a fitting. While the wig was lovely and I tried it for a few days, it wasn’t quite right nor comfortable. I was discouraged, but Pat persevered and called me to come back in. She had an extra large wig for me to try on. It was perfect!! She took back the first wig and I left with a newly styled perfect hair piece (no charge for any return visits). I would have felt very self- conscious in another salon because my hair was actively falling out while I was there but to Pat this is normal and she made me feel comfortable. I hope that everyone who is facing chemo considers going to the Salon at 10 Newbury. There are not a lot of people or places that understand hair loss like Pat does. – Beryl B.
“Salon at 10 Newbury provides an amazing service! My sister is going through chemotherapy. We tried buying a wig online, but it just wasn’t natural looking. Pat and her team help us find the perfect wig, which they also colored and cut beautifully. They were professional and kind throughout the whole process and made sure my sister was completely satisfied with her wig. Her nurse at Dana Farber even told her it’s the best wig she’s ever seen! Cancer really sucks, but Pat and her team made this part a lot easier. Thank you!”

“The Salon @ 10 Newbury is the BEST of the BEST. My sister is going through chemo and got a gorgeous wig from Salon 10. Pat and her team were amazing from the very first phone call. Pat helped my sister find the perfect wig that looks exactly like her own hair. When she began losing it we went back for them to shave her head and fit and cut the wig to perfection!!! They are so empathetic and kind during the most difficult time in my sisters life. She now has a beautiful wig (that noone would ever know is a wig) and a sense of normalcy back. I highly recommend Salon 10 and so grateful we found them.”- Kristen M.
