On Sunday night, MTV rolled out its 33rd installment of the Video Music Awards, or VMAs as they are more affectionately called these days. Entertainers and celebrities alike made it out in droves to the music event, which never has been one to disappoint with regards to appearances by up-and-coming stars and great performances by the music industry’s best-selling veterans! In addition to wanting to see all the unruliness and raw entertainment that the VMAs bring each and every year, we tuned in to see what the stars were rocking for fashion and red carpet beauty looks! Here are some of our favorite looks!
Beyonce. The Queen Bee, Miss Beyonce, did not disappoint on Sunday night with her much applauded sixteen-minute performance at the VMAs. She walked the red carpet with her beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy, in matching ethereal gowns. Her hair for the red carpet was worn up with delicate blonde braids framing the sides of her face. Her makeup was equally regal, with cat-eye liner and glimmering gold-highlighted cheekbone.
Kim Kardashian. Kim looked phenomenal in a sheer fitted black dress at the VMAs. Her hair was worn with the all-too-popular wet-look, giving her a slight mermaid vibe. She had a healthy looking tan and her makeup was a bit more understated than usual, pairing her signature showstopper lashes with a nude lip. We don’t think Kim has looked more beautiful!
JoJo. Jojo looked absolutely gorgeous on the red carpet in her mixed and mismatched black lace top and olive green paisley printed pants. Her balayage hair was worn with loose beachy waves and center part. Adding to her dramatic look was her picture-perfect makeup; her matte daytime smoky eye and mauve lip were, in our opinion, one of the best looks of the night.
Ariana Grande. Up-and-coming vocalist Ariana Grande wore her signature ponytail with a slight but welcomed twist! She changed things up a bit with her ombre color and opted to sporadically crimp strands. Her outfit for the red carpet was young and playful, pairing black wide leg trousers with an off the shoulder black lace bandeau top and thin choker. Her flawless makeup topped off her look with dramatic cat-eye liner and shimmery lip.
Rihanna. Rihanna was awarded with the coveted Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at this year’s VMAs. For the night, she rocked four different and gorgeous looks. Our favorite look of the night was her dress and beauty looks when she accepted her Vanguard Award. Shown here, Rihanna wore a beautiful full length gown with dramatic belt that was made to look like a chic trench coat. Her hair was equally chic, worn slicked back and pin straight. She topped the look with a dramatic and brooding lip color.
